I have now tried all of the new Velveeta Cheesy Skillets Singles microwaveable entrees, and the Ultimate Cheeseburger Mac flavor was the final flavor for me to try.

These are individual servings (10 oz.) that are shelf-stable (meaning that they can be stored at room temperature and do not need to be refrigerated). Cooking instructions are to microwave for 60 seconds, squeeze the pouch of “liquid gold” cheese sauce into the entrée, stir and eat.

This entrée contains 330 calories, 12 grams of fat, 1,020 mg. of sodium (43% of the RDA), 37 grams of carbohydrates , 2 grams of fiber and 18 grams of protein.

I always microwave these for closer to two minutes than the recommended one minute, as I like my food extra hot. Stirring in the cheese sauce pouch seems to be an unnecessary step; why couldn’t they have just included the sauce with the entrée during manufacturing? I guess they want to highlight the “liquid gold” liquid Velveeta cheese sauce. Gimmicky. Anyway, the flavor of this entrée is good. There is quite a bit of ground beef in this entrée, which surprised me. They didn’t skimp on ground beef or cheese sauce at all and the macaroni in this entrée is firm and not mushy. The cheese sauce is very cheesy and has a great flavor. I found it to be satisfying and sort of like “comfort food”. The only thing I don’t like about this entrée is the sodium content; 43% of the RDA in one lunch entrée is way too high.

I would possibly buy this entrée again but it would not be my first choice because of the sodium content. I paid $2.49, minus a $1 coupon attached to the packaging, for a total of $1.49, at Wal Mart.
