On the morning of September, 25, in the city of Georgetown, South Carolina a fire broke out on the waterfront side of this historic town. The fire was in the 700 block of the city and included destruction or damage to 7 businesses. Many of these buildings were 100 years old. There were apartments over several of the buildings but residents were able to get out without harm.
No boat damage has been reported. There were first responders from three counties called in to battle this blaze. The photos from this fire are heartbreaking. Agents with Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the State Law Enforcement Division will be investigating the cause of the fire.
