Scouting is education. It aims to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens, and as members of their local, national and international communities.
One of the major thrust of Education is Values Education. The present conditions are characterized by value conflicts and value distortions, and there is a great demand to help the youth examine their lives, their goals, feelings and aspirations.
Scouting provides our youth with an opportunity to try new things, provide service to others, build self-confidence, and reinforce ethical standards. Scouting will not only help when they are young but they carry it with them in their adult lives, improving relationships, ethics, work lives, family lives, and values by which they live.
Scouting will help guide our youth to set examples and become leaders rather than being involved in drugs or other bad decisions.
