September 18, 2014 is the date for a referendum in Scotland asking whether independence should be approved. The Scottish people have been seeking control of their land for 700 years. The vote is coming up, but what does it mean?
Independence would raise a lot of questions. Would an independent Scotland still use the UK pound, chnage to a Scottish pound, or implement the Euro? Would Scotland need a new army? What about the Post Office, police and so many more agencies? Of course, if the people vote against independence, these questions would be moot.
