I used to get up at 6 AM, rush to get ready for work, hit the road, and eat breakfast along the way. My commute each day, each way, is at least one hour. By the time i got to work i was already feeling some stress. I had patients scheduled to be there and I had to get set up, prepare myself mentally, and then go all day long working with people and their issues. This include working with my staff on daily issues that came up in the workplace. Then after a stressful day at work, I would come home and have to take care of things at home. I was on edge and probably not friendly with my wife and children. The poor dog who always greeted me and wanted to play usually got growled at and she did not know what to do. I at supper, did things around the house and usually went to bed exhausted. The next day I would get up and do it again.
One day I started to think i would get up just 15 minutes early. So I set my alarm for 5:45. I did not feel rushed that morning. I had time to eat breakfast at home which was healthier, let alone saving me money. I arrived at worked and was not stressed by the morning routine. I came home in the afternoon and greeted the dog and rough housed with her. I did what I needed around the house, helped the kids with their homework, and even found time to start doing some writing for money on a site called Infobarrel. consequently you could write for them too by following this link http://www.infobarrel.com/signup.php?ref_id=1729593. I am doing really well with them. However, back to this post. I went to bed that night and was excited about how the day had went. I set the alarm again for 5:45 am and continue to do so to this day. This extra 15 minutes have made all the difference in leading a less stressful life.
What time do you get up? What can you do to help lower the stress in your life.
