Facebook page keeps unpublishing, here’s why.

OK, a long, long time ago I set up my “ TurtleDog “ Facebook page in hopes of having a place where I could share all my posts in one spot as well as ‘friend / follow ‘ other bloggers and information.

I set up a real basic page and then hit the ‘publish’ button and my page was then launched on Facebook. Yeah!

The next day when I got up, rubbed the sleep from my eyes, turned on my computer and went to my Facebook page I noticed it was ‘unpublished’. What?! Figuring I must have done something wrong, like not saving my settings or clicking OK or something after I launched my page, I clicked the ‘publish’ link and again, and once again, my TurtleDog facebook page was published. To double check this, I logged out of Facebook and went back in to ensure that my page did not automatically unpublish and was glad to find that it remained published. Great! I must have gotten things right.

The next day I wake up, go to my PC and open up my Facebook page only to discover that it had was Unpublished AGAIN! Very frustrating. At this point I knew something was wrong. I checked all the help/troubleshooting etc. on Facebook to find a problem. There did not seem to be an answer to why my Facebook page keeps unpublishing. I seemed to be doing everything right.

The answer to why my Facebook page wouldn’t stay published…..well, nobody likes me that’s why. Not that I’m a bad guy, is just that no one had decided to follow TurtleDog on Facebook that day so Facebook just unsubscribed my page. Pretty crazy right? I mean what a paradox; you actually need a follower before your page stays published.

So how am I going to get a follower on Facebook if my page won’t stay published long enough to at least accidentally draw in some followers? OK, I actually have the answer to this. Once you publish your business or fan page you might need to drum up a follower fast there are a couple ways to do this.

  1. Beg. Seriously, beg. Go to a friend or even an enemy and get them to follow you on Facebook (this is what I did)
  2. Reach out to your network of bloggers and promote your Facebook page
  3. Follow yourself. Create a personal account and then follow yourself.

I can’t say for sure that this phenomenon of a published Facebook page unpublishing the next day happens to everyone but it happened to me and this seemed to fix it. I’ve checked my page on and off for a week and it still seems to work.

Thanks for checking out my post
