I was browsing through the Hormel Compleats lunch meals and came across the new Hormel Compleats Good Mornings Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal. At only 160 calories, this fits into my struggling diet program so I decided to give it a try.

This microwaveable oatmeal is 7.5 ounces of cooked oatmeal with apples and cinnamon. It is a generous portion and is heated up in just one minute in the microwave. Like all of the other Hormel Compleats items, it is shelf-stable, meaning that it can be stored anywhere without refrigeration. This would be good for keeping in your desk at work for mornings when you forgot to eat or bring your breakfast. It contains 160 calories, no fat, 230 mg. of sodium (10% of the RDA), 38 grams of carbohydrates, no fiber and 2 grams of protein. I heated this oatmeal up in the microwave for one minute, which was plenty. It was hot and smelled delicious. The otatmeal is whole grain rolled oats, which are bigger and thicker than many of the oatmeal products I've tried. There were a lot of diced apples in the oatmeal as well, and just the right amount of cinnamon. It was very filling and I would definitely buy this again. Of course, oatmeal made at home on your stove is better but this is great for the sake of speed and convenience.

These are new and are not yet listed on Hormel's website. I spotted other Hormel Compleats Good Mornings breakfast items, most of which were egg entrees.

I paid $2.18 for this at Wal Mart.
