I bought the FootSmart Yasco Bunion Toe Straightener because I have had a bunion on my right foot for years. I went to the doctor and was told that surgery is the only way to correct it. After the explanation of the surgery and recovery, I decided to try to find something else to help with my bunion.

One of the bunion braces that I tried was the FootSmart Yasco Bunion Toe Straightener. If you are looking for a bunion brace I would have to suggest that you save your money and skip this one.

When I first put it on, it did seem to pull my toe out to a degree and I was hopeful. Within an hour the elastic relaxed and my toe was right where it started. Besides that the toe portion bunches up and then it does absolutely no good at all. There is a little strap that fits over the heel but that really has no use at all. I wanted the FootSmart Yasco Bunion Toe Straightener to work but unfortunately it was not meant to be.

I did find another brace that helped somewhat It was also by footsmart called the Bunion Regulator. Here is my review of that brace: www.bubblews.com/news/910746

Incidentally if you have a bunion look at your arches. One of the things that helped me the most to stop further damage was to correct the arch. I make a conscious effort to walk with my arch in the right position and do exercises to try to strengthen it. The other thing you can do is get an orthotic insert for your shoe or just buy shoes with really good arch support.

One more bunion brace I tried was a hinged support. It was not the best but it could be right for some. Here is my review of that: www.bubblews.com/news/910807
