It's over and done....Phyllis Newman will no longer be in Genoa City, the fictional town portrayed in the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless. Her son Daniel has come to town and has arranged for Phyllis's transfer to a facility in Georgia near him. And while the writers of The Young and the Restless may want viewers to believe that Phyllis will either wake up from her coma that Jack or Avery will be given legal guardianship, we all know that Michelle Stafford has taped her last day and she has moved on to other things.
Unless the TBTB at Y&R have recast the role of Phyllis Newman in secret and not one word has slipped out, Phyllis Newman is off the Y&R radar -- at least for the foreseeable future.
But there's also a lot more going on right now, and the writer's still have not addressed the death of Katherine Chancellor. Jeanne Cooper, who portrayed Katherine Chancellor for 40 years, died on May 8. Soaps usually tape about 6 to 8 weeks in advance, so we probably won't see the death of Katherine Chancellor dealt with until possibly mid-August.
