The National Commission for Culture and the Arts or NCAA just sent me my payment as Filipino translator of five (5) sagisag/icon of Region III (Central Luzon) in connection with the Sagisag Pangkultura sa Rehiyon which is a project of the NCCA-PCEP through Dalubhasaan para sa Edukasyon sa Sining at Kultura or DESK. I am so happy and proud about this.

I translated 6 sagisag pangkultura of Region 3 namely; Baybayanting, Monumento ni Rizal na Nakabarong La Jota Moncadeña, Central Luzon State University, Leonor Rivera and Taong Putik.

Baybayanting is a unique cultural dance of Lupao, Nueva Ecija presented every 25th of July (Feast of St. James). Monumento Ni Rizal na Nakabarong is about the national hero Jose Rizal’s Monument wearing a Barong Tagalog. La Jota Moncadeña is a famous cultural dance of the people of Moncada, Tarlac. Central Luzon State University or CLSU is about the most popular agricultural university in the Philippines and in Southeast Asia while Taong Putik is a one-of-a-kind cultural heritage of the people of Bibiclat, Aliaga, Nueva Ecija devoted to St John the Baptist every 24th of June.

These 5 sagisag kultura will be used as part of the K-12 curriculum in connection to the implementation of Mother Tongue-Based Multi-Lingual Education or MTB-MLE. Thank you NCCA for giving me the chance to be part of this project. MABUHAY!
