A week has passed since Glee star Cory Monteith died suddenly of a drug overdose. Monteith was a huge part of the show, Glee, from the start in 2007 so fans wondered how creator/writer Ryan Murphy would deal with the absence of the beloved character.

Murphy revealed that that Monteith's character, Finn Hudson, would be killed off rather than go away or simply disappear from the show. The decision to kill the character of Finn wasn't easy but I agree that it has to be done. Just having Finn write a letter saying he found true love and moved to Africa won't cut it when the fans know that Monteith is gone. And it leaves the door open for Finn to return someday which of course won't happen.

The show's season premiere was pushed back a couple of weeks until September 26 to accommodate the cast and to rewrite storylines. The first two episodes will be Beatles tribute shows which were written in May. The third episode of the season will deal with Finn's death and be a tribute to the character - and the man.

I, for one, am very interested in how they will do this and also in how the cast will make it through such a sad episode.

Cory Monteith died on July 13 from a dug overdose. He had been to rehab in April after relapsing from a serious drug addiction he had in his teens. He was a major part of the show and I don't know if it will ever be the same but the show will go on.

Do you think that Ryan Murphy should kill the character off or concoct a way for Finn to exit without the emotional upset that it will cause to film and watch?
