I know you’re probably tired of hearing me talk about the rain and nasty weather here in south/central Ohio, but this time it’s not about me – promise!

Horse Bottom Acres 4-H and Horse Sanctuary in Mt. Gilead, Ohio is a horse rescue and sanctuary that operates strictly on donations. With grounds already severely saturated from weeks of rain, the storms that came through yesterday and this morning flooded the property and the barn, and they lost all of their supplies, food, and tack.

The accompanying photo is of a few of the horses standing near a round pen this morning. The water has started to recede, but it was pretty scary for a while, and now they have the daunting task of seeing what, if anything, can be salvaged, and then figure out how to resupply so they can keep the facility operating to care for the 16 horses currently in their charge.
