As I'm not a parent, I can only shake my head in wonder &deokieb . Your son is real fortunate to have you as his mother :) The dorm mom part made me smile too. I would have LOVED to have mother's cooking at that time of my life living and studying overseas! London is such an expensive city too. Bless you.

Thanks &Mavic123456 & &barbsbooks and all the other who have commented here - I write some of these posts from my heart - even though sometimes sad - I still smile in the face of adversaries.

I can't imagine how you must have felt when your son insisted on going to New York at the time.

Thank you for sharing this personal account. I've never talked to anyone who had a personal story about 9/11. I can only imagine how hard is was for you wondering if your relatives were safe. I'm glad your family is all accounted for. There is no true security aside from the "shadow of the Almighty." There is no safe place on earth anymore.

The pathetic thing about those bombing was that the bombers, (at least some of them), mistakenly thought they were doing it for God. They weren't acting for God; they were serving Satan. I believe that those who hide evil acts behind religion are in for a very miserable eternity.

There are some happenings in our life that we remember forever. I had another 9/11 before that, and my whole country was left shattered. I am from Chile and after living all my life in a democracy, there was a coup 9/11, 1973. I looked at the mountains, my mountains, whe Pinochet was throwing bombs towards the Moneda (our presidencial palace) and did not understand how the mountains did not fall and the birds kep on chirping.
