&catwoman - it does mean there is a possibility for winters that get colder and colder. Pretty scary stuff.

I hope this doesn't mean that we will be having colder and colder winters! I really don't understand the whole concept.

I don't understand why people debate about global warming. The evidence is all around us.

&catlord - That sun activity you speak of would make an interesting post.

I've read that warming precedes an ice age...are we seeing this now?

The worst part is the deniers will continue to deny as we see here already.

The world has undergone major temperature shifts over thousands/millions of years. The seas have risen, and fallen again. Seas have covered what is now desert. Where I used to live, 17 miles from the coast of California, I could dig in the clay soil and come up with handfuls of seashells left there millions of years ago, and now imbedded in stone and sandstone. The impact of the ice melting in various places (mostly the North Pole) is causing increased evaporation, and the water has to go somewhere, so we are seeing devastating rains and snow, with flooding. Our shores are shrinking with the increase of sea levels. But I believe it is all part of the natural shifts that have always occurred.

Maybe the very cold weather is hitting North America &Javaman74 but
the UK, and I would assume some of Europe, are suffering the worst floods
and rainfall since records began. Seems to be an absolute nightmare everywhere.

It is interesting that just a decade ago, "Global Warming" meant cooler summers/warmer winters... I guess the conceit here that we 'are much smarter now' than we were then... but wait another 10 years from now. I'm sure the definition will again change...
Me, -I am watching the strange action the SUN has been going through since '99... changes that have not been recorded since before the previous century...

Not surprised. The weather has been more volatile in recent years and I don't think it's a coincidence.

Our summers has become hotter and the winter also colder but in the north pole they haven't had such a dropping in their degrees since they have ever recorded it.

We are reaping what we had sowed. First it hit your country and within few decades it will spread to the entire world ( or may be we will face some other kind of challenges)

I think so too. Those who think that Global Warming is hoax should read about this.

Yes, global warming is a bit of a misnomer, because people think it just means it is getting warmer everywhere. Climate change is more descriptive, because weather patterns are so complex, temperature increases in some areas can create severe weather including blizzards elsewhere.

I felt that this might be a possibility. I will be trying to learn more about Global Warming. The change in weather patterns where I live have been strange over the last few months.

I've found it interesting to see how the cold weather is dipping down over the great lakes, the vary lakes that were covered with glaciers thousands of years ago. Makes sense that when extreme cold comes it's this same region that is affected.

What we humans are doing to our planet is so sad!!!

Hard to accept it but, if there is proof. Thanks for posting this today. I won't argue with anyone who says it is true.
