Remember all that too. You can do all those things if you try as well.

I remember all of these! Our phone was on a party line and our tv was black and white. I really appreciate some of today's technology, but things are moving so fast, I can't keep up! I have to ask hubby how to change from regular tv to netflix! :)

For ages we only had two Tv. Channels and that was it but they were very good ones and very reliable. The Radio was also more interesting then too.

I remember those days. I remember three channels on the TV. I don't think we got PBS at that time. I love now, computers, and Bubblews.

Those days were gold to me too. The VCR was awesome.

LOL yes for me too grow up and sort of liked those older days some things today are not so good others are better

Yep, I was trying to explain to my grandkids that when I grew up we didn't have remotes for the TV. You had to GET UP and change the channel by turning a knob on the TV set. I got a big ol' blank stare.

Granted, I was born in the 80s, but yep, technology was much simpler. A quarter for a payphone call, a rotary phone or a dial phone, a television with cable or just the rabbit ears. A few extra channels by then ABC, FOX, NBC, CBS, PBS, the Spanish channel of Univision... A huge desktop computer with a black screen and green letters or a typewriter. LOL. A ditto machine for copies at school which always left your fingers purple. A VCR as opposed to DVD, Blueray or DVR.

I totally related to this one. I like all the new technology---but could do without some of the things people are doing with it. There will always be those mean greedy types who keep it from being the good old days for everyone, instead of just a select few.. Call me an optimist, but I'm looking forward to just "the good days". Present and future.

I was just bitching about cell phones to a friend of mine yesterday... I hate the damn things!
There are things I wouldn't bring back from the past for any amount of money (female oppression, for example), but I do wish life were simpler with regard to what we think we need to be happy and survive.

&Angharad Those were the days. I was born in 1958. I still talk about "dialling" a telephone number.

Yes and what few toys you did have didn't take a fortune worth of batteries...they used your imagination, lol. I am just a couple years older so I remember all of this well!
