Chocolate Chip Glaze:
Heat 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips, 2 tablespoons margarine or butter and 1 tablespoon light corn syrup in 1 quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until the chocolate is melted. Cool slightly. This will glaze one 8 or 9 inch cake layer. So, double the recipe for a two layer cake.
Broiled Butterscotch Frosting:
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter or margarine melted
1 cup chopped nuts
2 tablespoons milk
Mix brown sugar , margarine and nuts, stir in milk. Spread frosting over warm 13 x 9 inch cake. Set oven control to broil/550. Broil cake about 5 inches from heat until frosting bubbles and browns slightly about 3 minutes. Watch carefully because the frosting can burn easily.
