The Atlanta Falcons have announced that Julio Jones will miss the rest of the season with a foot injury. He is currently getting a second opinion, but the word is that he won't see any more action this year.
Jones had been having another great season, totaling 580 yards in just 5 games. He only scored 1 TD during that time, but his high level of play allowed Roddy White to benefit. Roddy White has had a very poor season compared to what he's used to and will now need to rely on the production from break-out star Harry Douglas. Together, they may fill the gap now left by Jones.
The Falcons have come out and said that they are pessimistic about the 2nd opinion that Jones is getting. When asked about the prognosis, the team said "it is a legitimate concern."
Jones will see foot specialist Dr. Bob Andrew in Charlotte, NC. It is the same doctor that Jones saw after his foot injury came up during a medical in the combine. The injury might not necessarily be the same, but they have a trust between them.
