You are constant, loyal, true in the darkness,
When there are only my open arms,
And the eternal rhythm of the moon,
To keep you company,

But in the morning when dreams fade into oblivion,
At the first eye of honest light,
Your words are jarring,
Jagged edges of nightmares,
Left beneath my skin.

In the night you talk the talk.
Sing an eloquent rapture of words,
Sweet enough to fill my lonely heart,
And dance a graceful, perfect, spinning pirouette of stars,
A crackling aurora borealis,
More brilliant than the sun,

But in the daytime,you stumble-
Clumsy, cruel,
In the webs you weave in your deceits.

I want the brilliant night,
But to have it,
Pieces of you - the jagged edges,
Will always make me bleed.
