I don't know for sure, but I'd imagine that a 1965 Corvair Monza like the one pictured here will be available at one of the most remarkable New Old car auction in Pierce, Nebraska this weekend. Some 500 vintage cars owned by a car dealership will be available. The dealership collected the cars over the course of 50 years. When a new model year became available, the dealership owner would put any unsold cars from the previous year in storage, along with any used trade-ins that he couldn't sell. As a result, there are cars from the 1950's that have never been titled, some with less than 100 miles on them, that will be available. It's a rare opportunity to buy a 'new' car that is over 50 years old.

Some of the cars were kept outside, so probably damaged by time and weather beyond repair, but others are in excellent condition. I guess it's a good thing that the owner didn't pawn some off during the Cash for Clunkers program.

At any rate, tens of thousands of bidders and gapers are expected to arrive in the town of 1,800 people and hotels and motels are sold out anywhere within a two hour drive. Wish I could go!
