CAST: Troy Gentile, Darien Provost, George Segal, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Jeff Garlin
SYNOPSIS: This comedy takes place in the 1980's and follows the lives of a close-knit family The Goldbergs. The Goldberg family is lead by their boisterous, yet loving mother (who is described as an emotional, over-bearing, loud-mouthed, shop-a-holic).
HIT OR MISS: This comedy is going to be a HIT for sure. It has two things going for it, the first and obvious is the hilarious Jeff Garlin (who you may recognize from Curb Your Enthusiasm and Arrested Development). Secondly, sitcoms are getting pretty mundane and predictable, they need to have something fresh and unique about them to make it in the Fall ratings rat-race. Taking place during the 80's may be exactly what saves this series, it's something fun and something to set The Goldbergs apart from all of the other new comedies coming to primetime this Fall.
